Everything is connected – everything – and art and life bob and weave in a wild dance together in that great amalgamation of all that is.  So who influences whom in this interplay?  Over 100 years ago, Oscar Wilde wrote “Life imitates Art far more than Art imitates Life”.  Yet, if you stop to think about it, it’s easy to see how art influences life and then our lives influence our arts – on and on in a continuous circle such that if we try to say “life imitates art” we stop briefly and ask ourselves “is that how that quote goes?”.  Go Google the phrase and some of the top search returns are asking that same very question. Today in the United States is Independence Day.  Historically, we celebrate our independence from Great Britain.  Outwardly, we acknowledge the efforts of our forefathers when they proclaimed their independence by saying “We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.”  Inwardly, we sense that there is some greater truth in that statement.

Although these truths may be self-evident, we continue to consider them and debate them over 200 years later.  What do we mean by the fact that “all Men are created equal”?  Who is this “Creator”?  What are these “Rights” of “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness” that we hold so dear?  There are probably as many answers Read the rest of this entry »

What are you here to do? I mean why are you here on the planet? Why were you born?

Are you here just to go through the story of your life? Just a random chance event you showed up here with all of us?

Is there some feeling within you that knows you were here to do more? What is your purpose and calling in life? Are you living it?

If so, are you living it fully? Are you doing everything you can to fulfill your life’s purpose? If not, why not?

If you’re not living fully on purpose, then why is that? Are you afraid? Is your fear keeping you from living “flat out”?

What are your afraid of? Are you afraid of failure? Are you afraid of success? Are you afraid of being judged by others? Are you afraid of being judged by yourself?

Get over it! Whatever is holding you back – release it! Move on!

Live your life fully on purpose. Do what you came here to do.
