Many of you may be tired of politics after the long and hard-fought election.  Many of you may be disillusioned over the outcome.  However, this is not the time to withdraw from the political world! Are you feeling the call to some kind of activism?  Many people tell me they are, especially those who are concerned over the results of the recent Presidential election.

So then the question for you becomes —

How can you stay involved?

Ask yourself this question:  What is the most important thing I want to see in my country right now? Then consider:  How might I play a role in that matter?

This might call you joining some group, getting involved in a political party, giving money or your time to some cause.  Only you know what is right for you!

I would encourage you to take your identified passion and then seek to find out who is working on that issue.  Do a google search and then read about organizations that are working in that area.  Contact the ones that resonate with you.  Then, volunteer!

Get out there and be the change you want to see!  As progressive talk show host Tom Hartmann always says, “Democracy is not a spectator sport, tag you’re it, get out there.”

If you are not sure where to get involved, I am going to suggest you consider the Coffee Party USA.  They are currently kicking off a #stayinvolved campaign to assist folks in staying engaged in the political arena.  If you are wondering just what exactly their goals are, you can find them described here:

There are 4 parts to their campaign:

One:   Actions and messages devoted to healing the divide in our country.

Two:   Working with other groups to support any highly visible public marches related to their goals.

Three: Creating and growing local Coffee Party communities to focus on their goals at the local level.

Four: Rotating educational and action oriented messaging to their followers related to their goals.

Sound interesting to you?  Here’s how you can get involved:

Go to and fill out the form on the bottom of the page. In the Comment section of the sign up form, let them know that you want to work on the #stayinvolved campaign and which part interests you.

But no matter what, get out there and support what is calling to you.  And, if you are interested, I would encourage you to check out my Kindle book Becoming a Spiritual Change Agent.

Good luck in whatever you choose!
